Incredible hydrophobic properties continuously repel water, dust, dirt, and other contaminants unlike ever before, making washing easier and less frequent.
The nanoparticle Graphene layer leaves a stunningly rich, deepened gloss that drastically enhances the look and shine of your paint.
A Breakthrough In Vehicle Coating Technology
Graphene Matrix utilizes the latest in nanotechnology to create an incredibly strong and flexible coating that anyone can use. This breakthrough technology can be applied to just about any surface, enabling greater versatility and a true one-size-fits-all application. Whether you are a first time coating user or a professional detailer, Graphene Matrix is guaranteed to perform month after month.
Revolutionary Technology Made with Graphene
Graphene Matrix utilizes an innovative Graphene Oxide composite that bonds to form an impenetrable layer of protection. Our unique chemistry makes Graphene Matrix easier to install than ever before. Graphene Matrix does not harden or crystallize like a normal ceramic, reducing the risk of potentially irreversible high spots or streaking.
5 Years of Protection
Graphene Matrix Coating durability is rated in years, not months like many spray on “Coatings”. Once applied, Graphene Matrix forms a permanent bond to the finish protecting and repelling contaminants.
Graphene Matrix Coating's unparalleled ability to resist contamination is due to its extremely high surface sheer angle, shedding water and contaminants while reducing the risk of etching, water spotting, and staining. In addition to its resistance to abrasion, weathering, and oxidation, Graphene Matrix Coating creates a layer that forms an almost impenetrable barrier on top of the surface once applied. Future maintenance, such as clay barring and light polishing to repair possible imperfections in the coating, can be performed without sacrificing its integrity, resulting in the ability to finally achieve a near-permanent coating.
How to Prep for Application
Clean any loose dust, dirt and contaminants from the surface.
Clay bar any rough embedded contaminants from the surface to ensure no impurities interfere with the coatings properties.
Polish/Compound to remove any paint defects in the form of scratches, swirl marks and oxidation. Graphene Matrix is a semi permanent coating so once applied any defects will remain sealed underneath.
Deep clean any polish oils or residues from the surface that could inhibit the bonding process using Ethos Detox.
Remove any residual water that can be hiding underneath panel gaps, headlights or taillights which could drip out and affect the coatings curing process.
Temperature and humidity can play a big factor in “flash” time (Time between application and when the coating is ready to be wiped off). We recommend applying in temperatures between 65-75*. In higher temperatures flash time will be expedited so first test using a small section to determine workability before moving onto the rest of the vehicle.
Graphene Matrix can be applied to any painted, plastic or glass surface (including windshield).
How To Apply
Make sure the surface has been completely cleaned and decontaminated with Ethos Detox. The cleaner the surface, the better the bond!
Shake bottle well.
Apply a few drops of Graphene Matrix onto your applicator until evenly covered.
Starting with horizontal / top surfaces first, applying in straight lines slightly overlapping from one line to the next. Work in small areas approximately 3'x3' or the size of a door or half a hood at a time. Temperature and humidity will determine coverage areas allowable between application and removal.
Applicators should glide smoothly on the surface while laying down an even layer of coating. If the applicator starts to drag or the application becomes inconsistent, apply additional drops to the applicator.
Immediately after application, you will notice a “Rainbow Effect” (More prevalent on dark colors) while the applied coating bonds to the surface. Roughly 1-3 min after application, the "Rainbowing" will start to turn into a haze/fog, this means the coating is ready for removal. (Temperature and humidity will expedite the flash time. Test a small area first before continuing onto the rest of the vehicle)
Using premium microfiber towels (Preferably our Utility Towels), thoroughly wipe down the section to remove the Graphene Coating residue. Your first wipe should remove about 80% of the residue, and your second wipe should easily remove the remainder. Use small, circular motions and little to no pressure during removal.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to check adjacent panels to make sure you haven't "pushed" excess coating to other areas. (We recommend using a flashlight or smartphone light for inspection to make sure every bit of residue is gone. If you fail to remove all of the residue during the flash time, it will become a dark spot once it cures and can require polishing or compounding to remove) So be thorough and continue to check your work before moving onto the next step.
Repeat these steps as you move along the rest of your vehicle. Coating the paint, plastics, trim and glass surfaces in the same manner. When layering one hour minimum is required between coats.
Let the coating fully dry/cure for at least 48 hours before allowing it to get wet. The longer it stays dry the better, as it will continue to cure for about 5 days (you CAN drive the car during this time).
Wash and maintain the coating as outlined in our maintenance protocols. ethoscarcare.com/coating-maintenance
Graphene Matrix is a professional strength coating and is designed to work on its own. You would not want to pair it with Ceramic Wax Pro as they are different chemistries. Graphene requires more prep work and a slightly more attentive installation than Ceramic Wax PRO but provides a much more durable and long lasting result. Ceramic Wax is for those that want the easiest application possible with minimal work required.
Graphene requires that the paint is completely free and clear of any contaminants or other forms of protection. Its chemistry is designed to work directly with the surface and shed anything on top of it so it would be a stand alone solution.
Most ceramic coatings on the market are comprised of Sio2 (Silicone Dioxide) which is commonly referred to as Silica, also known as sand or glass. Graphene was discovered in 2004 and won a nobel prize in 2010 due to its incredible attributes which have shown to be 100X stronger than steel while remaining flexible and not breaking.
Graphene Matrix utilizes this innovative technology to make a formula that takes ceramic coatings to the next level. Making them easier to apply while providing additional benefits and results.
Graphene Coatings are an evolution on the tried and true Ceramic Coating and are applied in a very similar manner while reducing some of the risks and potential downsides.
Yes it can! In fact we recommend applying 2 layers for maximum performance and longevity. 2 layers ensure that there are no uneven or low spots in the coating and that the surface has been properly covered.
There is no added benefit to applying more than 2 coats to any surface.
If opting to layer the coating, wait 1 hour minimum between the 1st and 2nd coat.
- Clean any loose dust, dirt and contaminants from the surface.
- Clay bar any rough embedded contaminants from the surface to ensure no impurities interfere with the coatings properties.
- Polish/Compound to remove any paint defects in the form of scratches, swirl marks and oxidation. Graphene Matrix is a semi permanent coating so once applied any defects will remain sealed underneath.
- Deep clean any polish oils or residues from the surface that could inhibit the bonding process using Ethos Detox.
- Remove any residual water that can be hiding underneath panel gaps, headlights or taillights which could drip out and affect the coatings curing process.
Graphene is an allotrope ((structurally different forms of the same element)) of carbon consisting of a single layer of atoms arranged in two-dimensional honeycomb lattice.
Yes! Graphene Matrix works incredible well on wheels due to its high heat repellency and chemical repellency. To appy graphene Matrix to your wheels checkout our video here: (YT video link “How to apply Graphene Matrix to your wheels)
Unfortunately not, since Graphene cannot be installed on top of any other coatings, waxes or sealants it cant be used to top additional protection. If your car already has a coating, wax or sealant we recommend performing all of the preparation steps as outlined in our instructions Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-hdh5aPR1A)
One achilles heal of Ceramic Coatings has been their incidence of water spotting, this is due to their silica nature being prone to hard water contamination.
Graphene Matrix has shown great resistance to water spot etching (not water spotting) as we have seen a reduction of water spot etching up to 80-95%. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlFa5YNi43A)
Water Spotting that occurs from a light rain storm is unavoidable due to waters natural surfactant properties. As water dries on a surface and collects contaminants it will leave behind residual “water spots”. Water spot etching is caused by water spots that etch into the top layers of the clearcoat and leave marks that cannot be removed with cleaning.
One of the greatest things about our Graphene Matrix technology is that you can apply it without needing any professional tools or experience. Simply follow the instructions included with each package and you can achieve fantastic results from the comfort of your own home.
The full cure time of Graphene Matrix is about 5 days. This means that we do not recommend washing your vehicle or using any cleaners until this period is completed.
Your vehicle is safe to drive immediately but we do recommend avoiding water for the first 48 hours.
