01One of a kind
Our formulation team developed the only DIY, at-home detailing product that uses ceramic waterless cleaning technology and cleaning agents to gently, safely and effectively cut through dirt, grease and grime on contact, leaving a clean, sealed and protected surface every time.
02Clean
Cleans dirt, dust, grease, grime and other contaminants without scratching or streaking.
03Condition
Fills micro-pores and polishes imperfections to seal the surface, creating a smooth-as-silk coating.
04Coat
Bonds to form a non-stick, hydrophobic layer that beads and repels contaminants, creating an easy-release surface that replenishes with each use.
05Insta-Bond™ contact formula
Our breakthrough, proprietary nano-polymer technology instantly produces gloss, slickness, water beading and durability on contact. It disperses and cures so quickly that even excess residue beads up and begins to reject itself. You can see it work with every spray.
06True ceramic protection
Our proprietary formula pairs our renowned ceramic resins with Insta-Bond™, packed with a high concentration of ceramic ingredients for stunning, mirror-like reflections and ultra-durable protection in one simple step.

Waterless, one step
01Defy the normal way
Engineered to defy the normal way of cleaning your vehicle. Long gone are the days of spending hours bent over your car scrubbing, polishing and waxing. It has never been easier to have the best looking car on your block.
02Replaces soap and bucket
DEFY replaces traditional car soap and hand washing for routine cleans. It works without scratching or streaking and leaves an ultra-slick ceramic layer that beads water and repels contaminants, so every clean after is even easier.
03Saves time, water and money
One bottle does the job of a waterless wash, quick detailer and ceramic spray coating. Ideal for garages, showrooms and areas with water restrictions.
04Pairs with Ceramic Wax and RESIST
Created to work synergistically with our ceramic protection. It rejuvenates the ceramic layer with each application while cleaning and conditioning the surface.
05Know when to rinse first
Not for heavily soiled surfaces. Pre-rinse or hand wash mud, sand, gravel or other heavy contaminants first, then use DEFY to finish and protect.
How to use
One area at a time, two towels, done in minutes.
-
Spray DEFY evenly onto the surface you want to clean, coat and protect, and into a microfiber cloth.
-
Gently wipe the sprayed surface with the microfiber cloth.
-
Before it dries, switch to a clean, dry microfiber and buff off any remaining haze.
-
Coat one area at a time and repeat until the whole vehicle is glossy, clean and streak-free. Add layers for more shine and protection.

FAQs
Quick answers from the Ethos team.
What is Ethos DEFY?
A versatile all-in-one waterless wash, quick detailer and ceramic spray coating. It cleans, shines and protects your vehicle in one easy step, for quick touch-ups or full cleans without water.
Is waterless wash worth it?
Yes. For routine cleaning, a waterless wash is just as effective as hand washing in most circumstances. It saves time, water and money, and is ideal for garages, showrooms and areas with water restrictions.
Can I use DEFY instead of car soap?
Yes. DEFY replaces traditional car soap and hand washing for routine cleans, and leaves an ultra-slick layer of ceramic protection that beads water and repels contaminants, so each cleaning is easier than the last. We don't recommend it for heavy mud, sand or gravel; pre-rinse those first.
Is DEFY safe on ceramic coatings?
Yes. DEFY is pH-neutral and formulated for gentle cleaning. It contains ceramic coating ingredients that leave additional ceramic protection behind as you clean, and it enhances the hydrophobic properties of your coating.
Does waterless wash scratch paint?
DEFY is formulated with cleaners and lubricants that encapsulate and lift dirt from the surface for a safe, scratch-free clean. Use clean, high-quality microfiber towels and proper technique.
What's the difference between DEFY and a regular wax?
Comparing DEFY to wax is like comparing an iPhone to a pager. DEFY is a 3-in-1 waterless cleaner, sealer and protectant with an advanced, lab-tested formula that cleans, conditions and coats any surface on contact.
Can DEFY be used on top of Ceramic Wax or RESIST?
Yes, and we recommend it. DEFY was created to work synergistically with our ceramic protection, rejuvenating the ceramic layer with each application while cleaning and conditioning the surface to remove dirt, dust and grime.
How is DEFY different from other detailing brands?
DEFY produces true ceramic protection and shine for any surface. It is packed with a high concentration of ceramic ingredients, and we engineered an entirely new technology for it: Insta-Bond™.
What is Insta-Bond™ technology?
Our breakthrough, proprietary nano-polymer technology that immediately disperses and cures onto the surface, for immediate shine and protection with even less effort.
How many cars will a bottle do?
A little goes a long way. Each 16oz bottle is enough to coat 3-4 average-sized vehicles top to bottom.
How long does the shine and protection last?
DEFY's shine and protection last for months from a single application. It is formulated to be used every time your car is dirty, so each clean adds a just-waxed shine and an ultra-slick finish.
Can I use it in the sun?
Work on a cool panel out of direct sun when you can. If a panel is hot, work smaller sections and buff right away.
