02Vehicle Information

Your warranty is registered to this VIN.

17 characters. Driver's-side dashboard (through the windshield), driver's door jamb sticker, insurance card, or vehicle registration. The letters I, O and Q are never used in a VIN.
That isn't a valid VIN — exactly 17 characters, no I, O or Q.

03Coating & Application

What was applied, when, and by whom.

The Warranty ID printed on your card, or your order number.

04Confirm & Activate

Three acknowledgements and your coverage is live.

I understand the coating continues to cure after application — keep the vehicle dry for 12–24 hours, allow 3 days for full cure, avoid washing for 7 days, and never use an automatic brush wash. *
I understand coverage requires maintaining the coating to the published specification — a coating-safe pH-neutral wash every 1–2 weeks, iron & fallout decontamination every 6 months, and a compatible graphene/SiO2 top-up every 4–6 weeks — and that I must be able to document it at claim time. *
I have read and agree to the warranty terms, coverage and exclusions below, and consent to receive warranty, maintenance and product emails from Ethos Car Care. *
Please confirm all three acknowledgements to activate your warranty.
Please complete every required field marked with an asterisk.
We couldn't submit your registration. Please try again — or email [email protected] and we'll register it for you.

Registration must be completed within 30 days of application. Ethos will confirm by email.

Your Graphene Matrix coating is backed by our industry-leading professional warranty.

  • Premature coating failure — yellowing, peeling or delamination of the coating film.
  • Loss of gloss — a decline in measured gloss of more than 10 gloss units (GU) from the value recorded at application, under normal use and documented maintenance.

Coverage applies when the coating is maintained as directed and the vehicle is registered within 30 days of application.

Maintenance Requirements

Coverage is conditional on maintaining the coating to this specification — and on being able to show that you did. Most coating failures are maintenance failures.

Every 1–2 weeksWashHand wash with a pH-neutral, coating-safe shampoo — no wax, gloss enhancers, degreasers or abrasives. No automatic brush washes, ever.
Every 6 monthsDecontaminateTreat paint and wheels with a dedicated iron & fallout remover. Embedded brake dust corrodes in place and etches down through the coating.
Every 4–6 weeksTop UpApply a compatible SiO2 or graphene spray coating. Wax, silicone dressings and polymer sealants are not compatible over Ethos coatings.
Proof of maintenance is required at claim time. We formulate Cleanse, Iron & Fallout Remover and RESIST specifically to meet this specification and verified compatible with our coating chemistry. Ethos products purchased under your registration email are logged automatically — nothing to keep, nothing to produce later. If you use other products that meet the specification above, keep your receipts and the product's technical data; you will be asked for both if you file a claim.

Never polish, compound or abrade the coated surface. Polishing removes coating. Any abrasive correction voids coverage on the corrected panels until they are re-coated.

Annual check-in

Registered owners receive one email check-in per year — a few photos of the paint and your current mileage. Two minutes, no fee, no shop visit. Completing it within 30 days of the request keeps VIN-registered coverage active.

Transferability

VIN-registered PRO coverage is tied to the vehicle and transfers to a new owner upon written notice to Ethos within 30 days of the vehicle sale, provided all maintenance requirements have been met and documented. Coverage on non-PRO products applies to the original registered owner only.

How To File a Claim

Email [email protected] within 30 days of first noticing the issue, with your warranty ID or VIN, proof of purchase, photographs of the affected area, and your maintenance history. Ethos will evaluate the claim and, where covered, will at its option (1) have an authorized Ethos installer of its choice remove and reapply the product to areas determined by Ethos in its sole discretion to be covered, or (2) pay the owner of the vehicle a maximum amount of $1,000 or the cost of coating application (whichever is less) in full and final settlement. These are the exclusive remedies for all product covered under this Limited Warranty. Failure to notify Ethos within 30 days will result in the warranty being terminated.

Warranty Disclaimer

There are no warranties which extend beyond the description on the face hereof, nor are there warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability applicable to the products. This manufacturer's warranty does not cover custom products, improper or poor installation of the products which include but is not limited to, application, curing, preparation and detailing. In no event shall the manufacturer be liable or responsible for any loss or damage including, without limitation, direct, indirect or consequential damages, except as expressly set forth herein. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary by state or province.

Exclusions

  • Neglect to maintain the vehicle according to the standards and techniques recommended by Ethos, or inability to document that maintenance.
  • Damage to the coated surface due to improper wash techniques, automatic car washes or incorrect wash tools that may cause abrasion, or damage by third parties not authorized by Ethos.
  • Damage caused by abrasive compounds, polishes, and incompatible third-party products.
  • Application of the coating to matte or satin paint finishes.
  • Swirl marks, scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips to the painted surface.
  • Water spots — caused by mineral deposits which, if left to dry on the paint or coating, may leave a stain; water spots are not covered.
  • Damage caused by collision, accidental damage, vandalism, fire, hail, flood, stones, surface rust, rail dust, physical damage, paint overspray, or vehicle manufacturer defects, which may be covered under a manufacturer's protection plan.
  • Areas that have not been re-coated after a paint or body repair.
  • Damage caused by the application of any other coating or product over the Ethos coating.
  • Defective application of the coating.
  • Damage caused by any alteration or modification to the vehicle surfaces.
  • Road salts and winter chemicals can cause adverse effects on your vehicle and wheels; clean more frequently during winter. Failure to do so may greatly reduce the life of the product.
  • Car manufacturer defects or prior work affecting the paintwork, including paint flaking or peeling, foreign matter in the paint, orange peel, and clearcoat separation.

Warranty FAQ

Who registers — me or my installer?
You do. Ethos coverage is registered by the vehicle owner, so it never depends on whether a shop remembered to file paperwork. If a professional applied your coating, enter their shop name in section 03.

What if I applied it myself?
You're still covered. Ethos coatings are sold to everyone and DIY applications register exactly the same way — select "Vehicle owner (DIY)" under Applied By.

Why do you need my VIN?
The VIN ties coverage to the vehicle rather than to a receipt. It's what makes PRO coverage transferable when you sell the car, and how we verify a claim years from now.

Do I have to use Ethos maintenance products?
You have to maintain the coating to our published specification, and you have to be able to prove you did. Cleanse, Iron & Fallout Remover and RESIST are formulated to that specification and verified compatible with our chemistry — and because purchases tie to your registration email, using them means your maintenance record keeps itself. Use something else that meets the specification and you'll need receipts plus the product's technical data at claim time.

What counts as a coating-safe shampoo?
pH-neutral, with no wax, gloss enhancers, degreasers or abrasives. Dish soap strips protection. "Wash and wax" products deposit a film that masks your hydrophobics — owners think the coating failed when it's just buried.

Why is iron decontamination required?
Brake dust and industrial fallout embed as metallic particles that corrode in place and etch down through the coating from the surface. It is the most common cause of premature coating failure, it is invisible until it isn't, and twenty minutes twice a year prevents it.

What is the annual check-in?
One email a year: a few photos and your mileage. No shop visit, no fee. Completing it keeps VIN-registered coverage active and lets us catch maintenance problems before they become claims.

Is my warranty transferable?
VIN-registered PRO coverage transfers to a new owner with written notice within 30 days of the sale, provided maintenance requirements have been met and documented. Most competitors' warranties die with the sale — ours doesn't.
