Project Farm ran 8 coatings through 5 chemical rounds on one hood. RESIST ended at 2.3 lb of drag. The $110 Gtechniq kit ended at 2.5 lb.
After five rounds of harsh chemicals, RESIST had the slickest surface of the eight coatings in the test: 2.3 lb of drag, against 2.5 lb for the $110 Gtechniq kit. It did not win everything. Bug and tar remover dropped its beading score to a 2, and the tester's overall pick was Gyeon.
One hood, eight sections. The hood was stripped to bare paint and taped into eight sections, one per coating. Each coating cured for 48 hours.
Drag measured with a force meter. A digital force meter pulled a weighted sponge across each section. A lower pull means a slicker surface. Bare paint read 3.3 lb.
Five chemicals in a row. Strip wash, iron remover, bug and tar remover, wheel cleaner and degreaser, with a strip wash between rounds.
The coatings were bought at retail and the results were published on July 19, 2026. Watch the results table at 16:04. The coating that finished slickest is Ethos RESIST.
RESIST is reduced graphene oxide in ceramic resins, sprayed on and buffed off. Ethos calls its bonding approach Insta-Bond Technology.
The drag and beading figures belong to RESIST as sold. They show a surface that stayed slicker through harsh cleaners than the seven other coatings in that test. They are not a claim about raw graphene.
The product listing describes stand-alone protection on uncoated paint and topping up an existing coating. Wash first so it bonds to the coating, not to dirt. The RESIST directions call for a light spray and a second towel to buff.
The chemical rounds show how the coating stands up to strong cleaners. Ethos rates RESIST at 12+ months when applied and maintained as directed. That is the manufacturer's rating, not a result from this test.
Step 1: Wash and dry. Work on a cool, clean panel out of direct sun.
Step 2: Spray lightly. Into a microfiber towel or onto the panel. A little goes a long way.
Step 3: Spread with one towel. Spread it evenly over one panel at a time.
Step 4: Buff with a second clean towel. Remove every trace of excess, then move to the next panel. Leftover product is what makes it hard to wipe off.
That is the whole routine for the 16oz RESIST bottle.
Sorted by drag after all five chemicals. Lower drag is slicker.
