A dusty daily driver and a mud-covered truck do not need the same wash. Choosing the method first protects the finish and saves you from buying a bottle for a job it was never meant to do.
DEFY is the Ethos waterless option for a clean, condition, and coat routine. Its useful advantage is combining those jobs. It does not make heavy grit safe to wipe across paint.
Check the dirt before the label
Light contamination is the intended use. If the surface carries mud, sand, gravel, or other heavy debris, follow the product directions and rinse or hand wash it first.
Use product on the surface and towel
Spray DEFY evenly onto the area and into a microfiber cleaning cloth. Gently wipe the sprayed surface. Before it dries, use a clean, dry microfiber to buff off remaining haze.
Finish one area before moving on
Work around the vehicle one area at a time. Keep contaminated towel faces away from clean paint. Add clean towels to the routine when the soil load calls for them.
Choose the bottle and towels together
A single bottle is a straightforward starting point if you already have suitable towels. The microfiber kit puts both parts of the routine in the basket. Larger bottles suit repeat use; compare current sizes and prices.
Decision Matrix
| Condition | First step | DEFY's role |
|---|---|---|
| Light dust and fingerprints | Spray and wipe gently | Clean, condition, and coat |
| Clean vehicle after a wash | Inspect the finish | Maintenance and added gloss |
| Mud, sand, or heavy debris | Pre-rinse or hand wash | Use after heavy contamination is removed |
The written policy requires unused, unopened products in their original packaging within 30 days. Sale and clearance items are excluded. It does not offer an after-use performance trial.
