The Results in 20 Seconds
Ethos RESIST, $26 in the test
2.3 lb of drag after the last round, the lowest of all eight. Tied slickest on day one at 0.6 lb.
Gyeon, $90
Held a perfect beading score through bug and tar remover. Hand-applied kit that needs a cure before it sees water.
Hybrid Solutions, $13
Slick when applied at 0.9 lb, then 3.2 lb after the chemicals, close to bare paint at 3.3 lb.
How the Test Worked
- One hood stripped to bare paint, then split into 8 taped sections, one per coating, each cured 48 hours.
- A digital force meter pulled a weighted sponge across each section. Lower pull means a slicker surface. Bare paint read 3.3 lb.
- Five chemicals in a row, with a strip wash between rounds: strip wash, iron remover, bug and tar remover, wheel cleaner, degreaser.

Where RESIST Won, and Where It Didn't
Ethos RESIST Graphene Spray Coating
Won
- Least drag of all 8 after the final chemical
- Tied slickest on day one with Griot's
- Top beading score through strip wash and iron remover, level with the $90 and $110 kits
Didn't
- Bug and tar remover dropped its beading to a 2
- Wheel cleaner and degreaser wore it down further
- Gyeon took the tester's overall verdict
RESIST is reduced graphene oxide in ceramic resins. Spray a clean, cool panel, spread it, and buff with a second towel. Ethos rates it at 12+ months when applied and maintained as directed; the chemical test measures toughness, not months.

Eric P.12-year-old black Altima, 150k miles · Sept 2025
"I've seen it last a full year on a daily driven vehicle."
Pete M.Uses it as a stand-alone coat · Nov 2022
"The water was just rolling off and a couple of minutes after the rain stopped the car was completely dry."
Michael R.First rainstorm after applying · May 2021
How to Apply It
- Wash and dry. Work on a cool, clean panel out of direct sun.
- Spray lightly. Into a microfiber towel or onto the panel. A little goes a long way; one owner used 1 to 2 oz on a Tacoma.
- Spread with one towel. You will see it spread and quickly flash away.
- Buff with a second clean towel. Remove every trace of excess, then move to the next panel. Leftover product is what makes it hard to wipe off.
Buy a hand-applied kit instead if
you have a garage, a free day, and want the tester's overall pick: Gyeon at $90, applied by hand with a cure before water. And if your paint has swirls, polish first; no coating hides them.

Questions Before You Buy
Did Ethos run or pay for this test?
No. Project Farm bought all eight coatings at retail and published the results on July 19, 2026. Ethos makes RESIST and wrote this page; the figures are copied from the video's results table.
Why did the tester pay $26?
$26 is what the tester paid in July 2026. Today a 16oz bottle is $51.00, or three bottles for $87.00 with Buy 2 Get 1 Free.
How long will it last on my car?
Ethos rates RESIST at 12+ months when applied and maintained as directed, and one owner reports a full year on a daily driver. Prep, climate, and how you wash all change that; some owners notice the slickness fading before the beading. The chemical test shows how it holds up to harsh cleaners, not how many months it lasts.
Can I put it over my existing coating?
Yes. The product listing describes two uses: stand-alone protection on uncoated paint, and topping up an existing coating. Wash first so it bonds to the coating, not to dirt.
What if it's not for me?
Unopened, unused bottles in original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Sale and clearance items are excluded.
